Visitor Arrivals Increase To Over 340 000!
Visitor arrivals to St. Lucia jumped to over 340 000 in 2014 marking a 6% increase over 2013 figures. The St. Lucia Tourist Board has confirmed that 42% of these travelers originated from the US, an 11% jump from last year. The UK and Canada retained their place as second and third place (respectively) although the Canadian market saw a 15% growth over the year before.
With Tourism being the main income earner for Saint Lucia, this upsurge in visitor arrivals will help the island pull out of the current economic recession. Saint Lucia has retained its position as The Caribbean’s Leading Romantic destination and in the past year has been praised for having one of ‘The Top 10 Destination Spas in the World’ and one of ‘The Best Caribbean Resort Hotels’.
