The Capella Marigot Bay Resort and Marina, formerly Discovery Marigot Bay, on St. Lucia’s west coast, is scheduled to close at the end of April for an extensive but rapid renovation, with a suggested reopening date of early June.
Renowned regional design firm OBM International will renovate the 122 guestrooms and suites, add a rooftop restaurant and Rum Cave – a “warm, relaxed cave-like space” made of natural stone, wood, rum barrels and copper.
The existing Hurricane Hole Bar will be relocated to the resort’s dock area.
Plans also call for an outdoor spa with treatment rooms set in treehouses, as well as a new fitness center, an infinity pool and a swim-up bar.
The Marina area will also benefit from the addition of new shops, bars and a restaurant to cater for the anticipated increase in yacht traffic to the Bay.
